We'd like to invite your members to enter a dedicated junior aquathlon on June 10. The event, organised by the Greenwich Tritons Triathlon Club, takes place place at Colfes School, Horn Park Lane, London SE12. It is part of the Triathlon London Tristar Series 2012.

The race distances are:

Tristart (age 8) 50m swim/500m run
Tristar 1 (ages 9-10) 150m swim/1,000m run
Tristar 2 (ages 11-12) 200m swim/1,500m run
Tristar 3 (ages 13-14) 300m swim/2,000m run

7Oaks Tri Club is proud to announce that the 7Oaks Junior Aquathlon will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 8th July 2012 at Tonbridge School Sports Centre. This will be the second Junior Aquathlon and will use the same course as last year. Entries will be open to anyone born between 1st January 1996 and 31st December 2004. The race distances will be as follows (the ages are determined as at 31st December):

8 year olds (born 2004) - Swim 50 metres / Run 600 metres
9 /10 year olds (born in 2002 or 2003)- Swim 100 metres / Run 1500 metres
11/12year olds (born in 2000 or 2001)- Swim 200 metres / Run 1500 metres
13/14year olds (born in 1998 or 1999)- Swim 250 metres / Run 3000 metres
15/16 year olds (born in 1996 or 1997)- Swim 300 metres / Run 3000 metres

Due to Parkwood Leisure Centre reducing their opening times on Spring Bank Holiday 4th June and the Diamond Jubilee Holiday 5th June 2012, there will be no training sessions on either of these days

For swimmers of Starter, D Squad, C Squad & selected members of B Squad. (If you are in B Squad and have received this email, you have been selected by your Coach). Please find link to the entry form for the Saxon Crown Future Champions Swim Meet on Sunday 17th June. All swimmers who will be 9 years & over on the date of this swim meet will be expected to make every effort to attend this meet and compete in all the events. No entry times are required. Full details are attached for this event and all entries must be returned to Liz Child or your Coach by Friday 11th May. No late entries will be accepted.

Due to technical difficulties, split times for the Saturday are shown for hundreds only. If you require further splits (50's) for specific individuals or you require your club results in a specific format i.e. text, pdf, excel, SDIF or Lenex please contact the webmaster who will be happy to provide the information.

We are collecting Sainsburys Active Kids and Tescos Vouchers to use for sports equipment. When visiting either store, please collect them and pass them on to your coach.

Results now available in members area for March Time Trial and Kents.

The club coaches have asked parents to remember that children should be watched from the gallery at Sidcup, not from the changing area. The gallery gives the best view of the swimmers and helps younger children to concentrate on their swimming. They also suggest that children use reusable water bottles to reduce the risk of plastic caps getting into the pool and becoming a choking hazard. Many thanks for your help.

Due to changing circumstances, Swimshop will now only be operating through the SWIMSHOP Internet page in the members area. Once ordered a suitable collection date and time can then be arranged at the SIDCUP centre. Payment methods remain the same.

London Region Championship Qualification Times

Parents and Grandparents spend a great deal of time attending swimming galas supporting the children and the team. By becoming a qualified timekeeper and Judge 1 (J1) you can make attending galas a more worthwhile experience and also get great insights into the swimming skills we are teaching your children.

BSC are looking for Parents/Carers and/or Grandparents to help the children and club by becoming officials. This will also help us to run our own events as licensed meets and enter other meets, as in some cases clubs ask us to provide an official as a condition of allowing us to enter the event.

How hard is it to do? The initial training is attendance of three short sessions, after which you will then have to be mentored whilst working an an official. These could be at meets you were attending anyway.

Does it cost me anything? No. BSC will pay your course fees.

Our Chairman, Phil Bird and Membership Secretary, Lee Samwell are currently taking their J1 qualification and would be happy to discuss what is required.
